Basic technical tips

I’m sure you’re seeing how much fun we’re having making films, and for those starting out and making their own content we wanted to share a couple of technical tips to help you get started.

Simple recording setup → If you’re delivering some info straight to camera, keep your setup simple. Set the camera to eye level and frame yourself in an MCU (medium close up); this means having the top of your frame just above your head, and the bottom just below your shoulders.

Light source → This should be coming from in front of you or 3/4 to one side of your face. Never from on top or behind.

Sound → Sound is so important. Set yourself up in a quiet environment or room so we can hear your message clearly.

Feel free to reach out to us with any questions – we’d love to chat!
